Welcome to Lovewine
My name is Greg Love and I am passionate about wine, communication
and enhancing relationships through exhilarating wine events.
Lovewine is all about better relationships, intelligent
connection and how wine brings people together.
June 2011 Update
I have recently returned from 5 months in Burgundy, where
I was reviewing the 2009 vintage and making over 100 films;
that capture in detail the lives of many of the leading winemakers
and their relationship with their terroir.
Great moments included filming for 90 minutes with Lalou
Bise Leroy of Domaine Leroy, Frederic Mugnier, Louis-Michel
Liger-Belair and dozens of other leading producers. My reviews
and films will be available shortly on www.burgundylover.com
I have also captured the local culture, showing the Burgundians
at work and play in films on the Hospice de Beaune 150th annivarsary
auction, the Saint Vincent Festival celebrations, local gourmet
food events and films on life in Beaune.
The wine book publishers, Dorling Kindersley also asked me
to write a section on the great value wines of the Cote de
Nuits for their forthcoming book: 1000 Great Wines, which
will be published in October 2011.
I am also releasing an exceptional new leadership training
course on " Living your destiny" in September 2011.
This will be available as a one weekend seminar, or it can
combined with a series of Burgundy masterclasses to form an
8 week "In Wine there is Truth" training programme.
Background
I moved to London in 1992 from Melbourne, Australia, leaving
behind the world of big city law for adventures anew. After
flirting with the world of film and television media recruitment,
I decided I wanted to move to a front of camera and writing
role, that would harness my passion for wine and food based
hospitality, creativity and communication.
Since January 2005, I have been tasting thousands of wines
every year in London and Europe, at a professional wine critic
level, alongside leading tasters and critics such as Michel
Bettane, Philip Williamson and numerous UK based wine writers.
I am self taught, having tested myself persistently from
2005-2011 against the best, which was a long and demanding
apprenticeship, before moving into reviewing via the internet.
From 2008 I chose to concentrate on the wines of Burgundy
and Piedmont, with the odd foray into the Champagne, Riesling
and new world Pinot Noir. I discovered, tested and established
over years of professional practise that I had a capacity
to understand and translate the subtle nuances of complex,
single varietal wines.
I like to review wine from the ground up, which means investing
time, expense and effort in understanding the vineyards, wine
making techniques, cellars and the unique personality of the
wine makers or owners, before offering a balanced opinion
on the quality of their wines.
I created www.lovewine.co.uk in 2005 to harness my passion
for delivering entertaining and rewarding tastings for both
enthusiasts and corporate clients.
Happily, most of my original clients are still with me after
6 years and we continue to have fun doing business together.
To bring the wonderful stories of the wine world to life,
I am also launching several new film based streaming video
wine review sites in 2011, namely:
www.burgundylover.com
www.piedmontlover.com
www.rieslinglover.com
My motto is Come, Taste and See, so I hope you will.
Many Blessings
Greg Love
